In 2001, the years of work that Trevell Coleman had put into his rap career were paying off. Known by the stage name G. Dep (short for Ghetto Dependent) Coleman was signed to hip-hop mega label Bad Boy Records run by Sean (P. Diddy) Combs, and in November of that year he released his debut album titled ‘Child of the Ghetto.’

The album peaked at number 106 on the Billboard 200 charts and landed at number 23 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, and produced several singles including the hit song ‘Special Delivery.’
