Exploring Some Famous (And Infamous) Mob Burial Grounds in New York City
In a previous post, I highlighted St. John’s Roman Catholic Cemetery in Middle Village, Queens, and pointed out some of the several dozen former bosses and high-profile New York mobsters who now reside there. Several of them with large expensive mausoleums which act as a testament to their wealth and status. After all, being the boss has its perks. The often ugly and violent realities of some of the men buried there can become obscured by the peaceful and serene surroundings.
There is another area of the city not far from St. John’s where several mobsters were “laid to rest.” None of these men died of natural causes, and it would be a safe bet that none of them would have chosen this area to be their final resting place.
