A broken and unstable childhood can lead a person to be more vulnerable to manipulation than someone from a typical two-parent family built on a foundation of love, trust, and security.
Such was the case with Denise Labbe, who was born on March 17, 1926, in France and became an orphan at the young age of 13. From that early age, she was forced to fend for herself until she secured a job as a secretary for the local government.
Denise built a comfortable life for herself, experiencing a few casual relationships throughout the next 10 years during which time she became pregnant in 1951. Unfortunately, the relationship didn’t work out, and she was left to raise her daughter, Catherine, alone.
But still, she was happy, pleased with her lot in life, still searching for love but content to live her daily life with her new child.
