On February 19th, 2007, fifteen-year-old Carly Ryan left her home in Stirling, South Australia to attend a sleepover with a few friends - but when Carly did not arrive home the next day, Carly’s mother, Sonya Ryan, informed the police. Later that very morning, a member of the public walking along Horseshoe Bay in Port Elliot found Carly's battered body floating lifelessly in a shallow pool of water.
