This Cold Blooded Outlaw Once Shot a Man for Snoring
Notorious Wild West Outlaw John Wesley Hardin claimed to have killed more than 40 men. Including one who snored too loudly.
“They tell lots of lies about me. They say I killed six or seven men for snoring. Well, it ain’t true. I only killed one man for snoring.”
These callous words spoken by notorious outlaw John Wesley Hardin are in reference to an August 1871 incident that took place in Abilene Kansas. To say that John Wesley Hardin’s life was chaotic would be an understatement. Though he was the son of a traveling minister and was named after the founder of the Methodist Church, Hardin was not a turn the other cheek type of guy. By his mid-teens, he was already a hardened killer.
Hardin moved around frequently in his home state of Texas trying to stay one step ahead of the law. Unfortunately for him, he was never able to keep a low profile. His life was becoming a whirlwind of violence and wherever he went, shootouts followed.
