When Feared Outfit Enforcer Tony Spilotro Went Into Business for Himself, He and His Brother were Savagely Murdered

Even in death, Anthony Spilotro was a thorn in the side of the powerful Chicago syndicate known as The Outfit. At one time Spilotro had been considered somewhat of a golden boy. Having become a made man in his early twenties, which is quite young by mafia standards, he was seen as a rising star within the organization and was taken under the wing of Outfit heavyweights like Sam Giancana and Joseph “Joey Doves” Aiuppa.
He was groomed to be a syndicate enforcer and money maker, and placed under the tutelage of notorious Outfit killers “Mad Sam” Destefano and Felix “Milwaukee Phil” Alderisio. Spilotro quickly earned himself a fearsome reputation as someone not to be crossed. He would earn induction into the crime family following his involvement in the infamous “M&M Murders” in 1962.
