During the 1990s, a violent serial rapist known as the "Batman Rapist" stalked and assaulted women on the streets of Bath. More than 35 years after the first attack, his identity remains a mystery
I sometimes wonder if it was my ex husband. He had a Batman cap, was tall and had blue eyes. Do reports say if the attacker had light red hair? He started acting abusive and I ended up sleeping in another room out of fear. He was in the military in Lyneham off the M4 motorway that leads to Bath, from the late 90s until 2003. Although before that up to the mid 90s he was at Brize Norton which is farther from Bath. He had been demoted in the military and was depressed. Even though he had an admin type job, I found a scary looking knife in his wardrobe. He said somebody in the USA military gave it to him. I also found 3 kitchen knifes put in the crevice of the sofa with a sharpener. Why would he do that? I worried at the time he might stab me so locked my door. I eventually separated and then he moved up north in 2003. I have no proof and it could all be a coincidence, but not sure if to still tell the police, or would it be wasting their time?
It is disturbing that he was never caught. A local man near me was actually caught for a rape he committed in the 70s, though, because his granddaughter was arrested for something minor, and they took her DNA and found the familial connection. So there is still hope they could get him. It's likely he died or left the country if everything just completely stopped in 2000, though.

Maybe the rapist is a cop?
